Hi, long time since i have been visited TGC forum.

I would like to ask a few question, hope anyone can help me!.

A couple of years ago, i was doing some C++, it seems, that i forgot a lot of C++, thats why i was going through the basic stuff again , and OOP, pointers, etc.
Allso PHP has really helped me understand OOP.( and javascript).
To be hornestly, i newer got hang on the graphics library in C++, due
to the fact, that C++ has a quite a few choices to choose from (or not ?), regarding graphics / GUI.

Directx, could be one choice, execpt if you are dealing with complex 3d vector graphics, and shaders, which is very very diffcult to learn, properly i will just learn the basic stuff.

I am using Visual studio 2010 express for now with win7.

Microsoft Foundation Class Library, is diffcult and old, and not
a good choice for me, (and its not included with express version).

Allergro 5, many people say it great, execpt programming graphics with Allergro is horrible! ?.

Qt library could be interesting to learn, if its easy to learn ?.

Most important thing, is ofcourse the Dark GDK, which is hopefully
easy to learn, since i allready know Dark basic Pro and have been using Dark basic pro for a couple of years.

I think i will stick to Dark gdk for now!.

What i am trying to say, is, whats the best approach going
from c++ to c++ with graphics gui etc..
I want to go the easy way (relative!) with a soft blend from c++ to c++ with graphics , gui etc..

I would like to have have a relative good understanding and foundation of c++ graphics using different favorite of graphics library.

My goal is really not making games only but allso creating forms, windows in c++, which dark gdk dosent support!.

Is dark gdk for c++ free ?.

DarkGDK is about as easy as it gets when it comes to graphical programming with c++. It has the same commands as darkbasic pro so LOAD OBJECT would be dbLoadObject()

Yes

No, GDK .NET is for .NET languages like C#

DarkGDK can support windows forms, you just have to learn the framework and program them yourself and use a reseditor to make them, not too hard.

thank you very much.

i really i appreciate you help.

That dosen't seem so in one danish
forum, where the whole forum is build upon
point system!.
I did ask few questions in the danish system,
very polite, but all i got back was exstremely
unpolite answer, if you can call it that.
It very common in these forum, that one
user is trying to make nasty post about a person,
and even cheat with point system, etc.
i'm never gonna visit this forum, they are so
nasty every time!.

But in game creator forum, people are allways
nice, atleast to my experince!.

ok, maybe this is a stupid question,
is'nt the net platform integrated in visual c++. 2010 ?.
I saw a post , which a user describe how to
install visual studio 2012 with dark gdk.net,
i think with visual c++ ?.
I'm properly wrong?.

Allso i dont see any code or subroutine , like
the way you see it in visual basic net.
You know , the automaticly created
subroutine, when you're adding a button in
visual basic (getidbyelement) !.
I assume that means, that the .NET framework
is not part of visual c++ 2010 ?.

I see a few websites, saying, you can actually
use gdk.net with visual c++ 2010 express.
The visual c ++ 2010 has buildin .net, but
its called c++ / cli.

there is sdk package, its a developher package,
but for what ?.

there is allso netframework 4 for visual c ++
2010 ??.

I admit, i am a little bit confused!.

Sorry to many question!.
I found out , that you can install net framework
4.0 which adds more functions / library etc.
Same with dsk for win 7 64bit.

I'm afraid my post is a dead issue, if you
can call it that!.

The Dark GDK is an dead issue too, I'm aftaid !.

Atleast GDK 2.

Well, still so DarkGDK 2 "kind of" works with some tweaks, and GDK1 still works, just that it's a bit outdated compared to the current DBPro version.

Thank you Rudolpho for you answer!.
It seems that i can't buy Dark GDK 2, since
nobody has heard from Mistrel ?!.
I did have a look on another thread "
Dark GDK / What is the status of GDK 2.0?"
in this forum.

I've search the TGC website, if i can find any
download link to Dark GDK 1!.
