Newcomers DBPro Corner / DB ease of use?

OK, I made the mistake of purchasing t3dgm. I know, its rubbish. Thinking of purchasing DB. I have never written a single line of code in any language. Is this for me? Any advice would be helpful and save me money. Thanks for your help.

DB is where I started and have since gone on to learn several other languages in addition to it. I think it is a great language to get into coding with, but like anything worthwhile, it takes time and effort to learn. you will often get frustrated and stuck, but we have a helpful, clever community here to help out..

DBpro has a free version, no reason not to start there and see how you like it really

OK you were right this can be frustrating. i downloaded and installed db pro to C:\The Game Creators\Dark Basic Pro Free then i installed directx_aug2009_redist. uac is off and im running windows 8. when i launch db pro nothing happens. i checked task manager and db pro shows in list using about 50% of cpu. what am i doing wrong?

ok i think i got it i just installed update and db pro loaded. dont worry ill have more issues you can help with im sure
