The number of name change requests seems to be increasing. In order to reduce confusion I am asking that these requests are ONLY made when you have a genuine reason to change your forum name from now on, IE. Not just because you fancy a change.

If you feel your name is not interesting enough or have just become bored of it your request will be denied from now on.

If your request is considered to be for a "good reason" by a mod they may change it. Historically this was always the case but I think I may have started a landslide by making a publicly requested change recently.

Thanks for understanding.

One thing I'd like to add. We mods tend not to mind too much unless the user has a history of bad behavior. If you've been noob slapped or banned, then we are disinclined to change user names.

It's probably best that anyone who wants a name change should email a moderator and explain, then there's just 1 mod responsible for it and knows why it changed, in case anything crops up later. It's just a neater way to handle it really.

Nice I'll allow name changes if anyone here evolves into a higher being like in Mr Handy's example. That is (in my opinion) a "good reason". I will require proof of evolution from a genuine pokemon league official and/or renowned genetic scientist.

Also you have to beat me in a poke-battle. My stats calculated like this:

HP: Infinity + whatever you say (In darkbasic pro code:

Defence: 0 (who needs defence when you have infinity?)
Attack: 5 on modays, 6 on Tuesdays, 7 on Wednesdays, 75 on Thursdays, 10,000 on Fridays, He's over 9000! on Fridays, and 1 on Sundays.
Sp. Attack: 0 due to lack of effort.
Sp. Defence: Infinite heath dudes.
Speed: 45

My attack is -

which means that your HP will be -Infinity after my first attack and I'll win.

Actually I think you just crashed the software because infinity is larger than an Integer, which is why I clarified my attack math in code.

I want to mention that Danachu is a weak pokémon - his speed is poor and defence is 0. So you need to tackle him at first move to get your name changed.

P.S. if I put on a skirt, can I be mrs Handy?

But you may still manage to get yourself a name change after all...

As far as I'm concerned that's a good reason. Unfortunately I'm no longer a mod since I devolved into a lower form of being and took up pokemon genetics... perhaps an existing mod will consider your request worthy.

baxslash is my favorite mod, despite him no longer being a mod. He changed my name for me, even when I had no good reason at all (and my past behavioral road on these forums was quite bumpy)!!! Let's face it though--Dark basic dude79 is a pretty terrible name. Dark Java Dude 64 flows much more smoothly.

Perhaps Zach a good way to state your reason for change is that your current name is 'emasculating and/or degrading to your current character'. That's something along the lines of what I would say to a mod, in your scenario.

Heed me, brethren, and heed me well, for this message must only be delivered once, lest it become known as an unappealing tinned ham.

My name will be Clonkex forever after and forever more! Never will it be changed! Never will they wonder, "Who is this man?", for even throughout the mists of time, there will be one that stands taller than the rest, unchanging and unchallenged, and he will be known as Clonkex!

Ok, Zach, I've changed it but I can understand the reluctance - whenever a user has a history we tend not to change names, but I'm sure that all that sillyness is in the past, and you won't make us regret the name change.

I want to change name from mr Handy to Lee Bamber. The reason - now I am consider myself as Lee Bamber. My doctor in charge of the case says that it is a serious reason for a name change request.

update: oh, nevermind, I have found my pills.
