I'm new to DarkBasic pro and am looking for a tutorial(s)
that will go through the basics of the language and concepts involved in dbpro.

I'm not really looking for a tutorial for making a specific game type.i just need grass roots information about how to get started.

Try the FPS tutorial in the DBpro help files.
(press F1 to access help in the Editor)

there are specific tutorials on this site too. And then there's the codebase, plus these forums.
