Hi, geeks! I need help with MSWord. For example, I have a text:

THEGAMECREATORS
LEE BAMBER
I LOVE PONIES AND RAINBOWS

And I want every line fit (exactly) page width.
Justify text button works only with the last one with many words, but I need all three lines width to be exactly as page.

How I can do this? Without manual crazy tweaking letter spacing for every line.

Font enlarging is possible.

Like this? I simply used three WordArt boxes, one for each line and pulled the edges out to fit the page. Using Word2003.

I think that's the only way you can do it GG, Word tries to be too clever with the justified text - at least the word art text is only a little bit fiddly

I am the one who knocks...

I would say you can do it with line spacing options, I've only ever done it in publisher (I've used the option for my CV), so don't know how flexible word is with that. Currently don't have Office installed, but can try later. It won't stretch the letters for you, but you can adjust font sizes, boldness and word, line & paragraph space to suit you.

I don't have MS Office but you can do this in LibreOffice by going to Format > Paragraph and selecting "Justified", "Last line: Justified" and check "Expand single word".

WordArt have text effects, unturnoffable.

That's it!!! But I have to work in Word...

This is a tough challenge

What you need is a macro that keeps increasing the line width (by increasing font size, spacing or whatever) until the line wraps. If it wraps you've gone too far and you stop at the previous settings.

All sounds plausible...but I can't think of any way in M$ Word to detect that the text has wrapped to the next line. If anyone has that information it can be solved. And it would be a very handy little Macro.

I tried saving the file I made in LibreOffice in MSWord format and it doesn't save the character spacing. Probably means you can't do it in Word.

I had a quick go but no lock... I did not go too deep into custom styles, no time...

Shift and enter, with justified text forces the words to be full line width in word.

It is possible to achieve what you're after in Word, mr Handy.

EDIT: As Mobiius said, you need a Shift+Enter at the end of every line that you want 'justified'.

It's even possible with just one hotkey combination: CTRL+Shift+J.
Select the lines you want justified, press the hotkey and done! That's it!

Hope this helps.

Not working with one word + not exactly what I want...

but...

WIN! KNOCKOUT! Thanks a lot!!!

P.S. How did you know?! Is it only exists as a hotkey or have a button somewhere?

You can also do it to an exact width with a one-line macro (it took some finding but I knew it had to be there). e.g if you wanted it to be exactly 18 centimetres wide, select the text and run...

Neat!

The question is: how do you find out these things (other than asking this forum )?

It should also work with only one word.
Try this: write one word, add a shift+enter at the end of the word. Then, select your word (including the shift+Enter) AND ALSO the last enter sign (the 'normal' Enter). With all that selected, press Shift+Ctrl+J. Done!

Thanks, guys! Glad i could help.
A couple of years back, i had a course (for Word, Excel, Access), and learned some of those very handy tricks. Can't remember all of them, but this one i do. We had a very good teacher. And, i was already into Word before that.
The Word version i used back then was 2007, i think. There was an option to justify a whole page, similar to this. The Word version i have now is 2010, and i haven't searched for that option yet. It's probably in some of the advanced option settings.

Cheers!
