Hey

Could anyone make a terrain texture of the moon surface, and make it ready for FPSC RELOADED. I tried myself, but it looked awful :/

will this be mapped to a sphere? Inserted into a sky box?
We only see one side of the moon and the disk is covered by the earths shadow during its phases.

finding free pictures of the moon should not be a problem for just showing it in the sky. but if you are going to map it to a sphere then that will be more difficult to find two pictures of the moons different sides. Finding them with the same magnification and exposer will be tuff.

Troll the web for some better pictures.

Change your search to 'Moon texture seamless', then change the setting that lets you filter the size of the image, select something the same as or bigger than 1024.

Cheers

Jay.

EDIT - A quick search found this little gem. (see attached image)

Hi Wolf.

I wasn't meaning for them to use that image as I had just pulled the first one off Google images. In retrospect, looking back at my original post, it does look like I am giving them the texture.

I will clear that up now. It's not my image, i didn't create it and hold no right to give it away. I merely meant to use it as a demonstration to show you what seamless textures can do.

Sorry for any confusion caused.

Jay.

I made one but I think when I installed Reloaded's newest BETA it removed it :/

Here is what it looked like in action:

If you dig into the FPSC Reloaded folder you'll notice folders called snow, lush and etc. Copy one of those folders make a new. Then replace the textures in that new folder with textures of your own. Title the folder something like moon and it will become available in the drop down menu for changing the ground while in FPSC Reloaded.
