Ok, I am brand new and I wanted to know if the Guide to DarkBASIC really helped you understand how to make good games. It's kind of pricy and I want to know if its worth the money.

P.S. With DarkMATTER and darkBASIC can you make PS2 quality graphics?

Piss off!!!

You sure can! I'm sure that there's a Tetris game for the PS2! See if people use their quotes wisely they can get away with anything. You could make about 0.5% of PS2 games with DB. Best not to compare DB with the PS2, but you can compare it nicely to the PS1. People will tell you to get DBPro. I personally like DB.

Always remember one thing, there are the online tutorials and the forums here to help you out, as well as a few example programs included with DB. If its kind of expensive, and you can relatively find the same information elsewhere for free, its a waste of cash.

First of all, DarkMATTER is a model pack, not an add on or anything (though it does come with the DB enhancement pack). The models are excellent, but I wouldnt say PS2 quality. Most of the PS2 game models would make our computers slow down to a crawl (curse those custom graphic chips). But there are a few games being worked on as we speak that would appear to be PS2 quality (nANo, Eternal Destiny, Dwarven Tales, etc).
