Thanks so much Brent for helping us get this out of the way.

What do you all think so far?

Its actually very good, especially the chest and pants. Nice Job. One problem though is the eyes, unless the user won't be seeing them. And the top of the head looks like an alien sack from 'ALIENS'. It looks opened up, maybe a screeny from above...

Anyways, it looks VERY good. Keep up the good work!

Notice the title....WIP Thats why there are no eyes yet. The top of the head is also being worked on I slapped on one of my crappy hair textures, so it looks a bit better (so the spikes arent white)

Brent is doing a fine job on it I think

I've done better, as a matter of fact thats a quick job. But I've still time to make it better.

..keep up the good work...

Hey Brent! Im kinda new to texturing so can you explain your process, and one major question: when adding depth is it better to use a channel or just overlay alot of layers over a grayscale heightmap.

Eh...my process. First I take it in to photoshop and break the different parts into different layers. There I do the basic colours. I use an overlay layer for my depth and the like. Then I take it into Lightwave and Bake the texture with global illumination

I wish I had some screen shots of my Eyrilus model...catch me on Aim some time and I'll show you.

And to answer your question. It's a matter of prefrence. I find it easier to use an overlay layer.

Hope this helped and I'm sorry you got to see some of 'medicore' work ..hope rpgamer doesnt take offense to that...**runs away**

I remember hove it was looking first time you were posting this guy ...nice progres have to say
I would say he now looks preaty decent, Brent did nice job on texturing, proportions looks right, only thing you can still try to make better is his ass ...should be more defined I think if I look at the picture.
