I just wanted to ask you,

The cheap combo is CharacterFX + 3D Canvas + TextureMaker and Milkshape. But is it better than GameSpace?

CharacterFX, Milkshape, and PaintShopPro would cost about £100 and would be enough to do whatever you like. Milkshape and CharacterFX are both fairly easy to learn, and PSP is childs play.

I personally dislike the UI on Gamespace/Truespace products, so that might cloud my judgement - I haven't tried Gamespace yet, but bear in mind that it is quite expensive (about £250 if I recall), and it only solves the modelling and animation problem.

If you buy Milkshape than you dont need CharacterFX since CharacterFX is not giving you too much over Milkshape animation capabilities ...correct me someone if I am wrong.

Agreed, all 3d packages require skill, without it it's useless. All the more expencive ones allow you to do it have more opitions on how you want to do it, even someone with Anim8tor can create something on par with Max, it all matters on how you use it.

Advantage with the bigger more expensive 3D packages is that they give you more tools to do the same effect faster, cleaner, and more efficient. *Plus, they usually have less bugs as their heavily supported. That last rule applies to most except milkshape, which is the heaviest and most stable 3D package for the price.

All their is too it. Except, I hear GameSpace Demo is bugged, so you might not be able to judge it well.
