hi all

after stuffing round for hours trying to get my skinned mesh to export 100% properly to a .x file, i ask: should i be using physique instead of skin?

i have never used physique before, i just put a physique on my skier dude but when i try to export a .x file, all my exporters crash 3dsmax. ok i didnt have all the envelopes set right but that shouldnt matter? i'll have more of a play round with it tomorrow...

physique seems to be more powerful than skin, but skin is nice and quick and easy to set up... and i can successfully export a mesh with skin...

as for bipeds? i notice that they aren't really supported in anything. or maybe i need a biped to export physique... i dont know.

so guys, which is better for use with dbpro? skin or physique?

Biped and Physique are Character Studio, a separate purchase from 3dsMax. I generally don't use either, although I did get an old version as part of my settlement bundle. If I recall correctly, Physique need not be attached to a Biped, though that is obviously what it was primary designed for.

Personally I find skin to be simple and effective, so that's what I use.
