I seriously doubt there is because I have not got my invitation and without that how am I supposed to collect my awards?

Supposedly there are no awards or invitations or anything like that. I'm sure you'll get your well deserved recognition, though, Andy

I watched a preview about it, and I get the impression that several publishers are more or less paying to have their games showcased on TV, but I could be completly wrong...

That's what all award ceremonies are! Do you really think any of them are actually judged impartialy anymore? It's all about $$$!

Well, I'm only half serious...

Perhaps, but this seemed REALLY blatant. I'll probably watch it anyways, though, even if David Spade is the host.

The last WIRED magazine had (,along with 10 pages of 'special advertizing' and every other page being an add,) 10 pages of 'game reviews'. This was nothing but a small paragraph describing the game, and on the opposite side a stock add for that game. Just ridiculous.

That's why I read Game Informer, they are copmpletely unbais. They were the only ones who said the Dreamcast 'had potential but might not make it' at it's launch, (not a quote but without the quote marks it blends with the last half of ther sentance, changing the meaning). They care not for anything except how the game playes.

Wow and i thought i was the only one. Only thing so far thats annoyed me about GI is that the bastards gave FFX-2 a 9.25(or was it a 9, either way it shoulda got a 7 or lower), and that this last issue had way to many "Prince of Persia" ads.
