Hmmm,,,,there IS a demo you know...

MP3's Are supported in Pro but...

You cant use them without paying a HUGE royalty fee for MP3. It would be the same with any creation program... its pretty expensive...do a Google search and find out.

I was just browing through and saw RPGamer's thing about mp3 royalties. Does that mean you have to pay royalties to the people who developed the mp3 format, or are you talking about if you download an mp3 from Kazaa or whatever and then you had to pay whatever band recorded it?

Hope this question makes sense,

Juvy:

Yes, if you make a game that goes commercial and are using the MP3/MP3Pro format for music and sound effects then you must pay a license fee if the game sells well enought.

http://www.mp3licensing.com/royalty/games.html

For you second question, that´s up to the band/group/composer if they want money if you use their work in your games. Some produces music that are "royalty free" and can be used whitout having to pay the composer, in mosts cases he/she only want to be in the credits.

So in the worst case you´ll have to pay for both using the MP3/Pro format and for using copyrighted music.

The license also mentions that you have to sell 5,000 or more copies. Most of us will not have to worry about that. And, if you do sell that many, you should be able to easily afford the license.
