Wonder what i should do about a modle of stairs, in Zelda for the N64 they used a ramp and textured it so they looked like stairs, in my game that would be like 8 polys. Or should i go for the real thing, which would be like 500 polys? My map is already pretty high polygon.

it also depends on the rest of the game....you cant have like a bunch of unimportant inadimate objects rendered with poly's and then just use a texture for something like stairs which the players will no doubt use often...it would seem out of place and somewhat lazy.....try losing some unneccessary polys that the player wont notice as much before trying the ramp trick

just a thought
