Original post

Start Date: 2016-01-18 09:00:00 GMT
End Date: 2016-01-18 21:00:00 GMT
Expected Downtime length: Max 12 hours
Level of disruption: Severe

Services affected:
- TGC Website (http://www.thegamecreators.com/) - Totally offline during this period
- TGC Forum (https://forum.thegamecreators.com/) - No planned downtime, login service offline during this period
- GG Website (https://www.game-guru.com/) - No planned downtime, login service offline during this period
- GG Forum (https://forum.game-guru.com/) - No planned downtime, login service offline during this period
- AppGameKit Website (http://www.appgamekit.com/) - No planned downtime, login and payment service offline during this period
- TGC Store (https://en.tgcstore.net/) - No planned downtime, login and payment service offline during this period

This downtime will affect all websites that require a TGC account to login, if you are already logged in you should be able to continue as normal. However new login sessions will not work.

Please note that all users will need to reset their password before they can login after this maintenance has been finished, we will be using new encryption methods.

I no longer have the old email address that I log in with as I lost the password years ago. What can be done?

@James H

You will need to contact customer support using the green "Help" button and explain the situation and we will be able to change your email address for you.

You will need to provide proof you own the account, so include an order number with your message to us.

Ok thanks, I have done, do you think I am likely to hear back from them any time soon, when I last bought stuff nobody worked weekends and does that give them just Monday morning to deal with this or can it be dealt with after the reset is needed?

I'm in a similar position, originally purchased a boxed copy in a brick and mortar store not through TGC (no order number) and set up a forum account through hotmail which I no longer have access to.

Any order number I could provide is attached to a newer TGC account on a gmail account that I do have access to, but I have and want to continue using my existing forum account.

I know my password and changing it is not an issue if I can do it on page after logging in with the old one, but if changing involves sending a link to the email account, this will be a problem.

Any ideas?

In the process of this getting sorted out all my products have been wiped from my account, I have logged out and back in again succesfully but the login email still remains as my old one...I have submitted another ticket but I don't want to reset my password to confirm the email was updated correctly just in case something goes wrong and I can't respond - the emails from support are non reply ones :/ please tell me I haven't just lost more than a couple hundreds worth of product!

Edit have tried resetting email address but as per my concern it is still sending the confirmation to the old address :/

@Ortu

In this case please PM me your current email and the one you want it changed to, I can confirm you as the owner via your forum account instead.

@James H

As I wasn't the one who handled your ticket I am unsure what has happened to your account. However I have changed your email address on my end and hopefully that has fixed your account and has got your orders back, can you confirm? You may need to logout and log back in.

@The Next,

PM sent, thank you.

I've been meaning to get this resolved for some time now so I guess this is a good thing anyway.

You need to make the password change into 2 fields, the second one to confirm the password!
People will mistype their password and they won't know.

I have here the same situation that James and Ortu have.
The original email server doesn't exist anymore and I cannot access any order number.

@Next, I'm sending you a PM with the details.

Many thanks in advance.

It seems that the code base has disappeared. Is this the case?
Enjoy your day.

@The Next,

I'm sorry to bother you again, but it seems that the 'reset password' email is not arriving to the email address that I provided

I'm sending you a PM with a different email account.

Many thanks again.

For some reason, the help files in AppGameKit, even when locally hosted, do not display any sample code.

This is a link to the thread in which it is currently being discussed, an idea what's going on?

I have a single Message in my message inbox from 2015-03-12. Clicking the delete link on the message does nothing. The link doesn't have a destination in the page source; on hover, it appears to link straight back to the current page. I'm on Chrome.

Also, I'm missing the functionality to subscribe to threads when posting in them (intentional?)

EDIT: test

I published a game!

Ortu thanks for the report I have fixed that issue.

BMacZero you can subscribe to threads in the top right of the page, there is a button called "Subscribe". As for the deleting old PMs I will check that and see what I can do.
