What Would you think you would be doing in Life if there was no Computers, No cars, Planes, Or Guns, or country. Just towns and big forests and some kingdoms and the rest is wilderness. But the medicine is just as good as 20 years from now.

I would go to my seconed hobby which would be my first since there is no computers. Since I like Swords so much And I like to get good with them and practice. I would be a Swordsman That wanders with a Sword(Katana) And my Tanto. I would go around and earn my money from challengers in town and I would just wander around looking for a quest to take place. Also I would try to build a legend around my name and get my Self A good title like this one "The Peerless Swordsman".

My EquipMent I would have
Katana-Wooden Saya with a metal Coating(I am not going in sword detail)
Tanto
Black Gi
Normal Black Pants no Hakama
Thermos
Bow And Arrows
Leather Gloves
Leasons for better survival(which is taught to me before I left)
My Black Combat Boots
Black Cap
Black Socks
A Back Pack
Compass
Some Starting Off Food
Water Proof Cover Pants(They Will go over my pants)
Extra Pair of Boots(these will be water proof and Hikeing)
Pocket Knife
Canten
A Comb
Small Hachet
My glasses
Blanket

I think This would do for now.

I wish the world was like that.

I would probably enjoy reading about science and math. You know, stuff like building bridges and other structural physics would also be a topic of curiosity.

Aside from that, my biggest hobby would by the martial arts. I would probably spend many hours performing kata's and looking for people to spar or challenge. I would also look into all kinds of oriental weapons. I would also be searching for an ideal "master" a "sifu"/"sensei" if you will.

If I got really bored, I might try getting into street fights and try kicking some serious butt. Fortunately for the present I get this out of my system playing games like Tekken/ Virtua Fighter 4 and sparring at my dojo.

If the world was without computers, I'd probably be...

Not Single, I'd have a girlfriend and life would be good...

But back to a serious note...

I'd probably be a bookworm, going to the library every day to study up on chemicals and their effects on the human body, and one day hope to make a succesful medicine.

Um, Great_Knight, sorry but have to point out a few very bad choices in you outfit. First off no matter the quality of a bokken you're gonna need a REAL katana, nothing else can mimic the strength infused into them. It's impossible to fold wood or coat something with folded metal. If you ever came across someone with a real katata or even a shinken (a metal katana with no sharp egde) that stick you'll use will snap in 3 blowes. Also, "The Peerless Swordsman"? Kendo has nine rank a few people even get to even get to seventh, beside a true samurai only searches for equals in combat. One last thing on the swords, other than a tanto, you're gonna want a wakasashi, katanas are uses in small rooms.

Secondly you clothes are very ill suited for the life of a Rurouni, boots are good for travel, but are very bad for swordmanship, they are to constricting around the ankle and if you know anything about kendo is that most of it lies in the foot work, whick leads me to another thing. "Normal Black Pants no Hakama", bad idea. The hakama is designed to hide ones feet. By watching ones footwork you can predict an opponants attack.

I'm not ranting on you here, it's just I consider myself a Japan nut and have to point out these type of things.

I would study the human brain, both psychologically and neurogically, in hopes of gaining a better understanding of how it functions.

(In case you were wondering, the only thing I've ever been more interested in than computers is the human brain...)

one word... Armish :: shudders ::
but Eric's right, no doubt quite a few of us would have more time to pursue other things.

Personally i'd still be an artist, or maybe i'd of taken my martial arts to the competition level. actually always regretted not doing that, i'm good enough Black level 3rd Dan; but just not really enough money you can get from it to be able to happily support your family, nor is safety pretty much assured.
Though i do work with Mac's all day, lol not sure thats any safer hahaa j|k

I'd probably be very depressed.

I'd get better at Taekwon-do, learn some other martial arts, learn to use a sword, mace and axe (like knights in computer games), and be very bored.

Am I the only one here who's really confused?

I never Said I was useing A bokken "Katana-Wooden Saya with a metal Coating" That never said bokken. A saya is the sheath for the sword. And i picked pants instead of hakama for a couple reasons. I get better movement in them. I do like Hakama I do own a pair and i do know they give you a floating image and hide your feet, but if i am traveling a lot I would prefer Black pants they would be easyer to use with my other gear and wont snag as easy in the woods. Yeah Boots might not always be the best and the combat boots are not good for travel(I put them down because I like them), but Hiking boots for there ability for being light and short would be just like a normal shoe. And if that does not make your happy I will just add Tabi Boots to the list. Peerless Swordsman. Look up what peerless means and you will get my jist. You also Mention a true samurai will search for equal in combat. Did I say I was a samurai? Why Would I not have a wakasashi. Well I was thinking of what I know now and what I own, not any thing new. If I had a wakasashi yes then I would might of put that down.
I do not know how you got bokken. I do own two of those, but I never metion it on the list I said a katana with a wooden saya with a metal coating.

I would wonder how come the medicine is as good as with computers. Or I wouldn't as they wouldn't exist.

More importantly, I would ponder the greater question that has daunted man for many a year; will there ever be a boy who can swim faster than a shark? Much more interesting, and meaninful question that one.

Cheers

Out of interest, did you ever read game books years ago? Your original post seemed like an inventory list from one. Say, um, way of the tiger or something.

There seems to be some similarity with people's choices:

I'd probably be the same.

i'd be the rogue, up a few ranks in lock pick and bluff, as well as diplomacy, hit on women a bit more, and more so when my gf is around. id wear a leather jerkin, have a rapier and dagger, and possibly a small crossbow, and some potions of healing, but i think we need computers to invent those :/. i would travel around australia taking what i needed when i needed, and probably starting my own clan to fight the hordes of undead and give to the poor..... mainly me.

I'm not entirely sure, but if I lived in a town surrounded by forests, then it'd probaby involve wood.

I'm a bit of an entrepreneur, so I'd probably run a brothel.

I'm not joking either.

Uhhh, but this sounds like market research for the greatest RPG of all time. Imagine an RPG which had such a high level of interactivity, that you could actually make this sort of choice and do it.
