I figured out how to UV map an object that I created using wings 3d but I dont know how to texture it to the picture that I want. The only picture wings gives is of the letters. Does anyone know how to choose a picture to texture the object? (object is attached as a wings file)

No it isn't. Looks as if you forgot to hit the Upload file button when you posted? (There are two steps: 1) choose the file; followed by 2) upload file.)

Didn't know that, thanks.

Apologies to adawginthefog if that's the reason.

This excerpt from Wing 3D features page indicates you'll need to texture the model with some other app.

AutoUV

Add textures to your model using the AutoUV facility. AutoUV helps you cut and unfold an image of your model’s surface, which you can then export for painting and texturing.
