Hello! Me and my friend has this project for school.
We're making a 3d game in DB. Eh... well, since we're
not that good at game-programming (we've used Delphi,
but not for game-making), we're going to visit this
place now and then (if that's fine with you hehe)...

Now to the question... we're making this game where you
control an airship and we thought that a "Ratchet
& Clank"- inspired level would be cool, but the problem
is; we don't have a clue how to manipulate gravitation.

Above is the idea of a small planet on where the player
may fly around. Is there anyway to keep the airship soaring
around the planet like in "real life"?

In such a case, it might be better to have an invisible limb at the center of the planet. You can rotate the limb to mimic ship motions and scale it to raise or lower the airship. Gravity is just a matter of scaling down the limb over time.

I was playing around with the idea and I have some code you can use as a starting place.

I'll upload the resources and post a link in a few minutes. I also included an image of the example.

Arrow keys to move and turn, use the 'A' key to gain altitude. Gravity is in place. Fun things like camera placement I'll leave to you. The air ship starts at the back of the tiny world. Use the up arrow to bring the air ship over the horizon.

I hope it works out for you. When my son saw the demo, he right then and there wanted to learn DBP so he could turn it into a combat game.
