There is no list of genres. Every game is unique; most modern ones try to fit into genres, but there are always games that can't quite be classified. Frankly I think casino fits into puzzle perfectly...

Bishojo? Are those the Japanese dating sim games or something else?

Instead of retro, I'd sub arcade.

Retro is a genre?

Oh my god, my childhood has been categorised.

I assure you, there was more than just arcade games about when I was a lad! Sheesh.

Yep, dating sims, or more correctly text adeventures that deal with every day life of guys from a first person POV, they don't always deal with dating.

Dating games? LOL! It was fun going on the Blind Date Show in Leisure Suit Larry! You could say anything you like, and you would still win.

While the technology exists, I don't think I have seen too many 2D/3D artists on the forum with the skill to pull it off. One short cut would be to use Poser and other highly realistic character models and export those to a format that DB could use. I have seen 3d anime 'doll' kits for several character studio packages. So, I'm sure it is possible.

I've never seen one of the Japanese programs or an English translation of one first hand. I'm just going on second hand knowledge from sites like http://www.megatokyo.com which has mentioned them in the past.

I have about half a dozen of them that have been translated to English. Though many are Adult rated, the actual adult content is rather low, at least in the more engaging ones. Somewhere around 2% of the game will have adult images (many times still under Japanese cercorship laws) and around 7% of adult diologe.

I've seen a few done in Flash and Java Scrip but none in DB yet. I remember that someone was gonna make one, in fact I was gonna help, but it fell through.
