Which free 3D modeling software is better anim8or or milkshape. I am interested in making animated characters to import into DB as .x or .3Ds format.

milk shape i think is easyer to animate them but anim8tor is easyer to make things

I dont think theirs any compotition Milkshape wins hands down its easier to use and the interface is alot better than anim8or but i would recommend anim8or to people new to DB to help them model basic objects

i would say milkshape was better even though you cant import .x models, but it still has a lot of import/export formats for most popular games.

p.s. i dont think milkshape is free - it cost about £30 when i bought it

You can import .x Models into milkshape Tools > Direct X Mesh Tools > Open Your Model > Click the Floppy.
