hi, i'm new and i was wanting to get some help on scripting a "Death screen" i really want this to work but if anyone could post a script or modify others scripts to allow this function would greatly be appreciated!

Doing a "Jumpscare" is really easy, but not if the player has died and is being "respawned" in the game to say.
Maybe you mean when an enemy character dies? Or something else? If you could, clarify a bit more what you need.

there is no 3 live chances with my game, i want to script it so when a player dies by a entity before they get a game over screen they see a jump scare then afterwords they see a game over screen and replaying the game will reset the values for the jump-scare to be triggered again

So basically your setting the players "Lives" to 1 (one) correct, so you get one chance
at the level and then it's "game over" ?
I'll test a simple script tonight that runs when player dies, or maybe replace the "eye-hud"
for the jump scare

@ thedoctor989 I tested a simple script to run when player dies. It does work in "test mode"
Not sure about a final build? You will have to try it out. Attach to a triggerzone and place anywhere in your level.
Dont forget to add the path to your image.

Let me know if it works out for you.

can you give a example of what to put in the Path file way?

@ thedoctor989 It would be an image of your choice of course, placed somewhere in the "gamecore\huds\ folders. You can make a sub folder if needed. ( example: gamecore\huds\MyGame\Level1 )
Then in your script you would type in the path to the file (image) needed. ( hudimage=gamecore\huds\MyGame\Level1\popup_image.dds ) Now in that last folder (Level1) there must be an image
named "popup_image". You can name your images anything you want, just make sure it matches the name used in the script, that's all

i keep getting a error everytime i try to build a game or test out the script, i made a new room and did what you said but everytime i press the test button it says Error 118 Array not found at 2158

thedoctor989 Ok, that error most likely is due to an incorrect path to a file.
Now I am assuming your using BlackIce mod, so I attached a test map & files to test out. Just drop the files into the correct folders and run the test map.
I works perfect for me Player dies and you get a scary face pop-up. Now like I said, I assume your using the Black Ice mod, if not tell me what version
you are using? Black Ice uses some extra commands that are not in the other versions, for this example it's the "hud" commands.
