How would I do that?
Is there a really easy way to do it? SmartFTP does work for me.

If you are using Internet Explorer it has a built in FTP client.

Click on link below and you 'should' see folder listing. Drag your file to 'incoming' folder. Remember that you can't see files in the folder, even after copying yours in there.

ftp://ftp.thegamecreators.com/

Have you ANY proper FTP software? If you are using a router or behind a firewall (including the one built into winXP) you have to change 'mode' in any FTP software to PASV mode. This makes ftp software work a different way.

You say you are using SmartFTP. This has the PASV mode in, so just turn it on and you will be ok.

I am behind a firewall which I can't disable, I think the only option is for Rich to download the game from my site.

how did you upload it to your site then? surely you had to use some kind of ftp client to get it there in the first place?

Well I believe Rich won't do that-- if he makes exceptions for some people, everyone's going to want to have him download their game. Rules are rules!

Get SmartFTP, a small and excellent FTP client. Connect to ftp.thegamecreators.com and upload it to the incoming folder. Easy as that .

You cannot view the contents of the incoming directory on our FTP server, no matter what you try to chmod. This is on purpose and is a standard security precaution for anonymous uploads. If your upload fails, do it again with a different name. It DOES say this on the submission guidelines page + in the past 2 newsletters.

I don't mind downloading files if you email me the details, I will not be actively scanning the forum for messages like this. if you post here expecting me to find it and download your game, sorry but you are sorely mistaken.

Cheers,

Rich

If they didn't fail, then what's the problem? I couldn't care less how many copies you upload to the server, I'll use whichever has the most recent time stamp. So long as you use a unique filename, it'll upload.

Cheers,

Rich
