Newcomers AppGameKit Corner / [SOLVED] sun shafts

working on a new game and i would like to implement sun shafts into it but i am not sure where to start. My first though is that is would most likely require a shader. If there is a way to do this without one im all ears otherwise is there a shader in agk that exists that can accomplish this?

Shader would be best, but the old school method was planes with a transparency texture

no its for 3d and theres lots of moving objects that the sun shafts willl have to work around.

"God rays" or "light scattering" are the common terms for this type of shader effect. There are probably some free examples to be found that could be converted/applied to agk

Evolved had a nice one for dbpro, but that is in hlsl rather than glsl

If you got an extra Jackson lying around, I'd pick up the AppGameKit Shader pack, which includes GodRays:
