Well, it's almost 2020! Has anyone else considered making a Pac-man clone or tribute game (2D or 3D) in DBPro to celebrate this colossal anniversary?

Hello DBPro friends, veterans and n00bs alike!
It's your old pal/nemesis/village idiot/student Derek Darkly here.
Don't everyone stand up at once, unless you need to stretch those scrawny programmer legs.

If you have never played the classic, original stand-up Pacman arcade machine, then welcome to Earth!
It was the very first video game I ever played, at the very first arcade i ever went to... this was the early 80's when the video game craze was about to explode. And explode it did. And it's still exploding everywhere. And that's the last time I'll type that word because it's making all of us feel awkward...

So, I have been working on a 3D Pac-man clone for about 4 weeks now. It's dope. Not the illegal kind, just the fly kind. Not the insect fly.. the dope fly. Not a doped-up fly, just a regular one... (BTW, did I mention I have six legs after 7pm?)

Now is the perfect time to pay tribute to a classic! Just flinging the idea out there like a frozen pizza. [ imagine pizza emoji ]

I should be done in the next few weeks with a playable demo.
Here's a screen shot of my progress without the 3D maze, just a flat surface:

I made a decent 2D Pacman game years ago. I started a 3D version but gave up on it. Perhaps I will revisit it. I remember playing the arcade Pacman years ago and was enthralled from the get go.

So many games to code.....so little time.

Well of course I remember playing the arcade game the Atari console and vic-20 jelly monsters on cartridge before the Atari copyright battle commenced. And of course I wrote one in full machine code early 80s which was very fast and smooth. This was also on vic20. I really want to write 3d version of blue meanies but never got around to doing it. Maybe one day before I'm very grey and old ha

There's no rush! We have until at least 2030 until the 50th. LoL

I'll be posting my demo soon, right after a current spiritual crisis is resolved...
Football season in the states just started, after all...

Here is an unfinished version.... it lacks a 3D maze, start menu, cutscenes, etc., but is still playable.
Arrowkeys to move.... the "1" and "2" will keys alter the view.

If this doesn't run on your particular version of Windows, then I'm deeply ashamed and sorry.

And shout-out to my long-time DBPro buds here!

Hey, all!
No updates to my program yet. I'm finishing a Sudoku solver code before I go back to the Pac-man project.

Happy Holidaze!
