Hi, I have a question concerning photoshop and what its relationship with game making is. What can you do with photoshop to make a game better? I think you can make textures taken from real life pictures, but what else. Also, how do input these things into a game? Thanks for any help!

you can make all the your textures, menu's, and any other 2d graphics in photoshop(including photo's if you wish)
you get them into your game by saving them as a format that db recognises and using the "load image" command

Its just a paint tool thats professional. Its a lot of money tho, (something over $600.00) so I tend to use the lesser expensive Paintshop Pro (www.jasc.com) which can produce nearly the same effects, for less than $100.00.

You make images, save them as .bmp, .jpg, whatever, then "Load Image "Filename.extension",1" in DB.

it can also be used to crete data map files for say heightmaps etc..
it also helps to makes the print material for your boxes if you ever publish the content like a real game and helps to generate the graphics for your websites.

But its $600.00+ dollars and isnt necessary unless you are a skilled graphics artist (Like Indi!!) You should start with more basic (less expensive) programs (Like Paintshop Pro) and once that starts holding you back (wont be for a while) move on to Photoshop, when you can afford it
