there are functions in dbp that will return the width and height of the desktop

look in dbp help, i think they are under screen commands

They only return the size of the bitmap (640x480 by default).

Pick up my utility plug-in, and you'll find a couple of functions there that will do this for you

isn't there a screen width, screen height function that returns the width and height based on the current resolution?

@Cattle Rustler:
what you must be thinking of is what IanM said the only functions are Screen Width() and Screen Height() and those return the size of the window you are currently using...

anyway thanks again, was hoping i wouldnt have to write my own dll just to do that btw, is writing dlls for DB any different from writing them for blitz, if there is something else i need to do to do it could you point me in the rite direction

@schoenhs, are you writing dlls for DBC or DBPro?

In that case, have a look at the .doc file in your DBPro installation folder (just do a search for it).

Also, there is both an example framework available from my site and the source code for my utility plug-in if you want to look
