Hello everyone, long time, no seat.

Hope everyone is ok and safe.

Anyway, i am really thinking about
Buying the app game kit studio, the price
Is 60% off, wow!.

Last time i was trying to “buy” the app game
Kit studio, just to see how much the euro tax is,
Plus total amount i have to pay, but the website says”
Basket empty”, maybe i have to login ?.
Does anyone knows the exact total amount including
Euro tax is ?. (Denmark).

Allso, i hope i can just buy and download directly via a send email ?.
I dont hope the app game kit studio needs the steam
Thing in order to run ??.

Maybe i should buy the full packet with particle
Editor and media pack, hope its worth the money?.

5 days left, before this fantastic offer is ending!

If you buy direct from TCG website then you can download from their website and all update you get free . I am using TGC website from 2007 and all from DarkBasicPro to AppGameKit Studio I buy from website only AppGameKit Classic I buy from Steam ...

Steam is not required for Studio if you choose Download (vs Steam Key) when purchasing from TGC. and, i'd assume you would need an account, here, and to log in.

meanwhile, when i add it to the Basket, here, it shows "VAT @ 0% - € 0.00" on Checkout with "Taxes are calculated upon entering your billing address. " so, you'll obviously be able to see VAT when you get that far into the purchase (before it's finalized).

re: the Premium version with DLCs, they are worth it @ 40% off IF you intend on using or learning from them. then, according to the breakdown: Studio is already 60% off and that amount is further reduced by 40% within the package, so... $24 for Studio (~the same for Particle Editor), then $18 for all the media/code = $66. AKA, "dirt cheap", in my book.

otherwise,, i'm not sure why some folks are against the steam version when, with all of the above said, that same package is currently "less than dirt cheap" @ steam.

Tax will be whatever you're local VAT Rate is... so what you'd normally pay for any Goods / Services Inc. VAT, which I believe is 21%? Something like that.
It's perhaps best not to delve down the rabbit hole of international Taxation and how you handle it as a Business because frankly it's confusing and why Accountants / Financial Officers exist.

As for AppGameKit itself., if you buy it through TGC then no Steam Integration is optional ... at least outside of the AppGameKit VR DLC., which uses Steam VR; then you kind of HAVE to use it.

Thanks for the answers,
Virtual Nomad,
Raven.

I have nothing agianst steam, i even have a
Steam account and offcouse a game creators account.
Long time ago when i bought Tomb raider , i think it was version 6, steam was required for install of tombraider,
Steam is a good game market place , where every thing is easy i think,
Buying games etc, but i am the lazy guy, who didnt bother
to properly get into the steam eco system, or what ever its called, i really prefer to buy App Game Kit Studio download
non steam version, that works best for me.

I think i will buy the App Game Kit Studio today,
hope the browser cerficate will allow me to
Execute the transaction sucessfull, damn computer.

As for the euro tax, i believe it around 15-25%,
allways been confusing with these euro taxes.
I remember i bought plugins from Soundsonline
website, just before the euro digital download taxes was introduced!

Nice to be back on this forum.
Still using Dark basic pro.

Chears.

It's much simpler to buy directly than through Steam. I bought Classic through Steam and meh... I don't like having tools on Steam for some reason. Dunno.. maybe it's just me

As for the DLC, I had a few of them included with Classic when I bought the package... I looked at them once and never looked again. They were just disorganized folder dumps. Maybe it's different for the "higher end" DLC like the shader pack, I can't say. You'll get a lot more mileage out of places like opengameart if you need placeholder graphics to develop with. For learning purposes, there's not much in the packs either. I would suggest checking out the tutorials and books available online instead. The forums are usually a good place for quick support if you have questions (of at least intermediate level). Be advised that the super nooby questions like "how do I load an image?" will be resolved with a quick "sweet baby jeebus, go watch the damn tutorials!" answer however

I personally find that the IDE for Classic is lightyears ahead of the one for Studio. Hell I would even argue that Studio has literally nothing to offer over Classic. So... if Classic is cheaper, go that way. I use Studio only because of the look of the IDE.... I'm petty like that Otherwise I'd stick with Classic.

Thank you n00bstar.

just bought App Game Kit Studio with particle editor, megapack.

hurray!

Every thing was sucessfull with transaction.
The euro taxes is 25% , thats ok.

Just downloaded all files on my account, but
Didnt install / try it out yet.

Total price is including tax = 50£.

Anyway, i am used to Dark Basic Pro, do picking up
the language from App Game Kitt Studio and continue from there would be easy, even thought i am a living room programmer.

I remember when the app game kit came out,
There was lots of option to buy different version
With tier 1/2 3, many solution for support for
C++, or just “dark basic pro language”, it was so confusing,
I could’nt figure which or what to buy.
Now that App Game Kit Studio is here , there is only
one language , Basic, and yes, i dont know if App game kit studio support C++, if so , then its ok for.
There’s even a Mac version.

Sorry i forgot, i was saying rubish, offcourse app game kit studio uses AppGameKit Script, i forgot.
I have the mobile ios AppGameKit creator app,
Actually very easy to use AppGameKit Script!
I wonder if i need to buy AppGameKit Classic ?,
Its properly the same script language.
What benefit would i gain from buying
the AppGameKit Classic ?.

Just did install AppGameKit studio with serial plugin folder, works perfect, even compiling.
Allso particle editor works perfect.

Fantastic , even thought my computer is a pile of..., and my win7 pro is a bit corupted and the pc is out off date.
Later i will upgrade my pc with windows 10, ssd, cpu, etc....
Noodle around with dark basic pro, javascript , html, mysql, php, ajax, json...
Not doing any programming lately, a bit rusty i guess!
Playing keyboard, piano, composing music, mostly
Pop/rock , new age etc, using my pc/mac cubase daw and roland xp30 keyboard...

Don't worry about your PC being out of date. AppGameKit is basically out of date too so it's all good

Glad you like it so far. There's some weird stuff to get used to at first when you're jumping in from DBPro or Blitz or similar languages, but once you get the hang of it, AppGameKit is pretty sweet. If you like to develop on mobile, the broadcast feature is going to make you very happy. Take some time to explore and let us know if you hit a roadblock, the people here are quite knowledgeable and helpful.

I actaully find the megapack dlc extremly fun sometimes. It is really there for my opinion as a "LearningAid" or like the dummy3d humanoid you get with the Unreal Engine.

But i do understand what you are saying, they need some edits with personal touches before inserting them into a game.

So they are good also for learning how to draw some game art even if its pixelated. The game assets are good for starting something.

Welcome.
1 thing you just need to keep in mind.
There is still no perfect solution for Asset Encryption in tier 1.
Once understanding the limitations of tier 1 (one of them is loops that doesnot run as fast as you would expect or as in Tier2 C++) you ll get the hang of what needs to be done before publishing on the mobile markets or PC. If you use the DLC samples you will have to hide them somehow.
There are many posts about it and i guess you can find it about every 2-3 pages of STUDIO/CLASSIC/WIP atleast once..

Download the AgkPlayer for Android and use the Broadcast ability in AGK. just take one example from the demo games and run/broadcast them. That is the real difference between AppGameKit to all other enginesSDK (which i know of). For broadcasting you need to connect (Any amount) a mobile phone tablet etc to the same WIFi as the pc/mac/linux you are working on.

Enjoy.

Thanks.

I know nothing about tier 1-2 related to c++.
I only know dark basic Pro, which i have been
Using for a couple of years, wrote some games
Here and there, but they are out of date,
I guess i am “out of date”, ha ha. , just
Kidding!.

For now i want to keep it simple with app game kit
Script, then later properly some c++.

Damn, i wish i could use the dark basic pro bought plugins
For app game kit studio, but thats not possible.
Those old Plugins cant even be activated.
