cool site, did you hand code it or use a program like dreamweaver?
if you coded it yourself would you mind telling me how you did the visitor display?

Thanks, it's all hand coded The display is coded in PHP using a MySQL table that I use to log all visits, the logging is also coded in PHP. If you know PHP and MySQL then it's not very hard to do.

TP:
PHP is server side and will not show up in the HTML source.

i have and it looks like he just typed it in but he has said it is php+mysql so looking at the code doesn't help (i'm new to html, take a look at my site in the sig, that's hand coded by me but not all the pages: msn, larinar1+2, forum are template or proboards in a frame but the rest is)

That would be even more complex then a counter. If you learn PHP and MySQL then it's not very hard at all. PHP is usually not used as CGI, I have no CGI experience myself. PHP must be installed on your webserver and for MySQL you must have your own database on the server. If you have both I suggest that you buy a smal PHP book that covers everything from newbies to databases. The bigger books not needed. PHP is very similar to DB so it's not very hard to learn.

I know that some have CGI folders on their servers and PHP files can be put in there but I have my PHP files in my HTML folder.

MySQL is a database system and you need access to 1 database to use it. However PHP can use ordinary files instead if you want. You can even devide the files into posts so they work like databases but I have no experience with that.

Lol

MYSQL is the best!

Fast, efficient and a small print on the CPU load. I use it for all my webdesigns.

Next weekend i will be releasing some freeware, under a new company name (u will all know it ). It used pure MYSQL for content, and just a few text config files for the MYSQL settings, install, and template properties (fully blown template system )
