Thats illegal If your not a company, you cant claim to be a company. Just call them an indi developer and give a name.

If this really DOES work Ill contact you with a beta of Eternal Destiny when it comes out.

What website do you use then...

Once you have proof that this is really working (get your tool hosted on a few sites, and have a lot of downloads) people will surely want to post their game.

In the UK, to have a company name, you must also have a company bank account, produce annual accounts, and at the very least complete self assessment and include a sole trader/partnership submission.

It's not a bad idea, but your program looks too simple... I think you should put things like this:

ex: background water effect moving. if you choose some options, 3d model moves like jumping.. etc

Of course not the same models, background, etc. Only the idea.
Maybe would be more attractive.

I don't get why downloading a player/emulator will make games get downloaded more. That's the reason why DB can compile to .exe right? How does the system work: Is it just an interface that says run the compiled .exe that doesn't really make a difference, or does it have the compiler inside so it can run the source code (bad idea)?

edit: I just noticed the link. I really don't see anything special about an emulator that emulates things that run on the same kind of system. I say that having the .exe is still more convenient...

Unless of course, you can program it to be able to run games from a password protected zip file, then that's different.

People? I hate people. People are stupid.

i would supose that the purpose of this is that someone will stumble across this one download and find all of our games that we made, and under the name "Emulator" people will find it easier...consitering people are probibly searching for the word EMULATOR more than they are DARK BASIC GAMES...

A company in Australia is $1000 or so and you have to appoint a Director and so forth, Me thinks this idea has not been well thought out. Even a shelf company is near $500 and requires more than one person to run.

Sole Trader is different and only costs $103 yet all your assets are liable as compared to a company which is like an entity to itself.
I seriously doubt many people here have big cash to throw around and I would be VERY carefull with your game exes and where u send them etc..

in the USA a corp. sole is only $50 and shelters all assets.
Its also good for "printing" money if you know any accounting tricks. But, I'm just a geek.... an old one, but still a geek.

OR, you could form a US church corp. sole. for free (an IRS file fee applyies) and get away with lots of stuff.
