Hi.

I need some advice regarding upgrading windows 10.

Now that i have bought a samsung evo 870 1tb SSD and want to replace it with my old
7200 rpm hdd and reinstall a new windows
(my windows 7 files is corupted).

The question here is, should i buy a windows 10 pro license key and install windows 10 pro
on this computer on my SSD ?.
(windows 10 genuine license key!)

offcourse i allso want to use the new
app game kit studio on windows 10.

I allready downloaded a complete windows 10 pro ISO danish version 64bit and allso downloaded Rufus ISO to usb key free software, so i can “burn” win10 on my usb stick, in order to install windows from usb stick.

There is allso the windows 10 media creation tools, maybe this tools is better than rufus ??.

To be honestly, windows 10 is better, faster booting and more software is suported, than windows 7.
With windows 7 , i cant even use Black Magic Fusion 17, Steinberg Cubase 10, etc.....

should i go for windows 10 or just keep my old
original windows 7?.

Here is my pc specs:

Intel core i7 3.6ghz 2600k
24gb ddr 1333mgz ram
samsung evo 1tb ssd
samsung evo 512gb ssd
samsung evo 256gb ssd
geforce 760 pcie 2gb graphics card
corsair 600w psu
coolmaster 400 someting cpu cooler
ekstra 3 fans cooler
tc electronic impact twin firewire soundcard

TL;DR :
Go 4 Windows 10
I got similar specs and I've been running Win10 for ages now.
Also, keys are cheap on eBay.

Windows 10 no longer ships on Disc... and hasn't since 2018., it now ships on a USB Memory Stick.
For those using older versions of Windows., I'd say it's a little confusing why you never took advantage of the Free Upgrade Period (2015 - 2018)
Keep in mind that this never Disabled your existing Windows Keys (Windows Vista / 7 / 8) but instead would append a Windows 10 Authentication to said keys and your Microsoft Account., meaning whenever you wanted to then upgrade in the future or fresh install it would automatically recognise that this was a Valid and Licensed copy.

Now beyond this., Windows 10 actually can be run almost indefinitely in Unauthenticated Mode.
The limitation to this is that Windows 10 will Reboot every 3 Hours., alternatively you can switch it into Windows 10 S Mode... this will mean it remains Free and Fully Functional except for the ability to run Win32 Applications (essentially you're limited to whatever you get from the Windows Store).
When Windows 10 S was first launched, well that made it a very unattractive choice as Windows Store Apps were quite limited; but today, MOST things have Windows Store (UWP) versions; and yes even Steam is available via such, and by-passes said limitation for Win32 Game run via it.

Still, of course I'd recommend having a Windows 10 License Key in order to fully utilise it.
This said Windows 10 Professional / Enterprise don't really offer much useful to Home Users... the enhancements they provide, such-as Virtual Environments, Server Runtimes, Development Environment, etc., aren't ever going to be used by most., so the extra cost isn't typically going to be worth it.

Now personally what I'd recommend is simply installing Windows 10 from the Media Installation., you get a variety of options to either create Installer Media (DVD, Memory Stick, etc.) or you can simply install from Online; and Windows 10 keeps a copy of the Current Build Installer on a Shadow Partition that allows for quite fast "Fresh" / "Clean" Installs should you ever need to; but given today Windows 10 is actually quite stable, you'll rarely need to do that outside of the Insider Preview (Developer / Beta) Builds.... which again most shouldn't be using.

No i cannot do that because those ebay key is not legal, i will need either to buy a legal geniune license from Microsoft or
a danish computer physcal shop.
believe Windows 10 pro license is around 130-160 english pound, and i am willing to pay for that.

, i really dont know why i didnt upgrade to
windows 10, maybe i was uncomfortable with upgrading
to a new OS, drivers, but it all doesnt matter now.
I will just buy the damn thing, ha ha, no its ok.

I think i will download the Microsoft media creations tools and make a iso usb OS on my usb stick, hope this media creations tools doesent automaticly update my OS, once i download and execute the media creations tools, because i
need to backup some files from my old hdd and do a clean
win10 install from usb stick.
My pc Bios has both ACPI and UEFI and can boot from usb etc, so there shouldnt be any problems.

One thing thought, i hope you can easily diasble the windows 10 pro, maybe its my old fear from windows 7, when updating and suddenly after booting win7, because windows requiring it, would say things like “failure configuring windows update”.

Anyway, i feel somehow stuck with windows 7, and its just matter of time before i cant use new software anymore , becuase win 7 is just to old!.
I think i am doing the right decision to change to a new operating system for the better.

One thing i dont understand, is, i mean i thought you could
run windows 10 for atleast 14-30 day without activating windows and the only thing that would happen is, your getting a watermark only, saying “windows is not activated”.
I am not shure that windows 10 is actually booting because you didnt activate it?!!.

I need to test it in non activated mode, just to see every thing is working and compatible, after that i will buy a
windows 10 pro license, going to legal way 100%.
I am just buying a pro version, set if , lets say
a new professional software like cubase pro etc, need a windows pro version, i dont know, i just wanna be on the safe side choosing the right windows version.

Windows 10 works quite differently to previous versions of Windows (such-as 7)
Essentially you CAN use it just fine without ever Activating it... as I mentioned in my previous post., the ONLY limitation is every few hours (3hrs iirc) after a 2-4 week period will reboot., but otherwise it's just Full Windows 10.

Getting Keys from Microsoft themselves is EXPENSIVE... somewhat needlessly so actually.
Your best bet is going to a Retailer (such-as Amazon, PC World, etc.) and getting a "Boxed" Copy., as they're generally much cheaper (£50 - 70) as opposed to the "Microsoft" which tends to be around £120 - 150.
Remember all you really need is the License Key to connect to your Microsoft Account... whatever physical format it comes in doesn't matter too much, as you can then Download whatever format you need.

And again as mentioned., the easiest approach is just to do a Install from Internet; I mean almost everyone I know in Europe has an "Always On" (DSL / DOCSIS) Internet Connection.
As noted... you only really need a USB / ISO solution if you need to install Off-Line; otherwise it's going to do an Online Install., and what Windows 10 does is take up ~32GB., of which 15GB is the "Clean Install" Media (on a Shadow Partition) and then 15GB as the actual Windows Installation; with a Further 2GB for various Boot / System stuff.

Now beyond this., you DO NOT need Windows 10 Pro to run most Software.
There are only going to be some select (and specialised) reasons to be running Windows 10 Pro., mainly if you're doing Web Hosting / Server, Virtual Machines and / or Deep C++ Development., such-as Driver or Close-to-Metal Programming.
Beyond that nothing will need the extra features; and in-fact Windows 10 Pro Default Installation doesn't even install the features that only it (or Enterprise) has access to; you have to Manually Enable and Add them to the Installation.
So you kind of NEED to know that you need them for it to even be worthwhile.

As such the extra cost, generally isn't going to be worth it.
Now as another note, a way to get a "Free" Version of Windows 10 is to sign up as a Windows Insider., using the Developer or Beta Paths.
These are often a little more Unstable, but they're also automatically Authenticated regardless of you having a Valid Key., and typically as Windows 10 Pro / Enterprise.

The last note, is keep in mind that upgrading (so getting an Upgrade Edition rather than a Stand-Alone) which again tend to be cheaper., will NOT disable your previous Windows Keys.
So you can still use Windows Vista / 7 / 8.0 / 8.1... provided you have Installation Media and it will Authenticate just fine., just keep in mind it'll pop-up with the option to Upgrade to Windows 10 every so often as a Reminder Notification.

Thank you both PSY and RAVEN for the answer.

Raven i will do exactly as you mentioned, going for windows 10 home version, that way i can save atleast 50£.
My Pc dealer in copenhagen charge around 90£ for windows 10 home version 64bit, i just have to order it online for the license key.

I will leave this post / thread open for more comment!

Now i remember why i didnt upgrade to windows 10,
actually there a thing thats annoy me, with windows 10 home version, you cant disable update at all, only delay them, but with windows 10 pro you somehow can.
This stress me, because the last thing i want is a computer updating all the times, in a loop or atleast updating alot.
Most of my bought software is cubase vst plugins etc, like omnisphere, superior drummer, i dont want to re-install
and activate my plugins again and again, there is a limit how
many times i can activate those plugins, atleast with some plugins.

I hope i can disable completly all updates , when i want to
with windows 10 pro.
I want complete power of my updates, just like windows 7.
With windows 7, you can disable updates forever, if you want.
