Hey all,

I just got a (late) christmas present, an extra $300. I was wondering what I should do with the money...

Should I buy a new console (they are pretty cheap now), Upgrade my PC (its still pretty good though, I can live without upgrading), buy new games, buy new development software...

anyways, what do you guys think I should do?

Don't listen to them.
You shall keep $250, but give $50 to the red cross.
With 250, you can buy lots of chopsticks (to train yourself)

Hell no. My parents just don't like me accepting that amount of cash. The same thing happened on my bday but somehow the money got through. It's just that they (my parents) are not in very good relation with my grandparents (who sent the money) so they don't talk to each other...

The money is on my account now but my parents don't know about it yet...help me sneak it out.

i recently bought a dreamcast for £25! I also got a memory card (one of them with the little games on!) for £2 and sonic adventure for £9.99! Lots of people underestimate the dreamcast but it is one hell of a good games console!

i could get a dreamcast for about $25, a n64 for $20, and SNES for $30, and NES for $40. see something wrong here? i remember when you could go to DI and get an NES for $2 and you couldnt buy a SNES for under $100!!! stupid communist scum (aka "Classic Gamers") who just HAVE to have the old games and consoles, thus rasing the prises for the old consoles...jerks...luckly i have my old NES that i got for $2 at DI (thrift store) that still works PERFECTLY (got new contacts for christmas last year) i can get a game working in 1 or 2 tries...HAHAHA

It would be over $50

Hmm with 300 bucks,,,I would buy Paintshop Pro if you dont have it. If you need webspace, buy that (30 bucks in all with domain) So thats about 100 bucks. Then I'd buy Texture Maker if you dont already have it, then Cart Shop. if you dont already have it. Then I'd save the rest for future perpusses (speeeling?)

I have the original SNES copy of Chrono Trigger, I can get $80 bucks for it a my local used game store. I also have the original Final Fantasy, DeJa Vu, Bubble Bobble, and both Zelda games (gold version too) for the NES. I still have my original NES I got for Chirstmas 16 years ago. I buy retro games on Ebay, most people don't realise how much they're worth, half the time bidding starts at a penny.

Maybe TheAbomb12 should invest in SNES games then. If it's only a penny(let's say it jumps to $1),plus shipping and handling that's only about $4 or so.(not sure on S&H)

Could be worthwhile I suppose if you find the right people.

--------------------------
Alright, if I had $300 in my pocket right now, and was forced to spend it on products out. I would buy...

$15 SoundMatter(I love sounds)
$70 DarkMatter1&2(Already being a modeler, why not have extra models to make a quick game?)
$80 Paint Shop Pro 8(8 is newest correct?)
$150 FL Studio Producer Edition(Since I have no music software)

Well that puts you at just about $295. With tax, and S&H, you will be looking at a little over $300 which isn't bad considering you have all you need to make a game right here.(assuming you have DB(P))

A must is DarkBasic Professional if you don't already have.(I have, so I didn't list) Classic is good, but Professional is better, and you'll be glad you upgraded.

I have everything.
All programs I need.
As much webspace as I need (thank youuuuuuuuuu petrat!!)
But I can't buy Cart shop which I need badly because I don't have a credit card.
And my parents won't let me use thiers.
