um...
I'm still working that out...:p
Although I was realy looking forword to that nANo project.
Too bad it got dumped. And the team didn't seem to get along either.

In gameplay wise I was really impressed with Aspace. I liked it's control better then Star Wraith 3.

Graphic wise, I think the best game of the year would be Obsidien (Is that how you spell it) yes the A.I seems to be constantly confused but the graphics are quit immpressive.

In storyline (and graphic as well) the best game would be The Magic Land. I mean it's one of the best DBP rpg's I ever seen with an actual good battle engine, amusing story, funny characters, and bright crisp graphics.

Another one in gameplay and reply value is Sky Cars. I mean I played this game so many times I'm a pro
It has really addicting gameplay and smart level design. And the level editor just makes it better!

Anything I missed?

Gameplay: Skycars
Realism: Pacejka car physics
Racing: Sunday Drivers
RPG: The Magic Land
Space: ASpace
Tech Demo:Evolution
Best Enhancement: Nuclear Glory's Dll, and Rob K's Blue
Coolest Code Snippet: Hamish's Elasticity&Bare Bones RTS by Phaelenx
Projects showing most promise for 2004: Eternal Destiny,Dwarven Tales,Anything I make ,The 10 or so IDE's,and anything TGC.(U6)

I'd say it was a good year for DB(DBP). I can't think of any other titles for other genres atm, so I'll edit later.

With all the alien entries, my post could surly change in a matter of a week.(But then it will be 2004)

I think I agree with yellow on those points.

I wasn't looking forward to NaNO that much-- don't know why, never seemed very interesting-- but I wasn't aware it had been dumped. What happened?

Anvi said they were moving to a C++ engine. Guess DBPro was too slow for their insanely high polycount characters and levels.

Cheers,
Preston

yea...I thought everyone knew...
crazy anvi and his high poly models cracked dbp in half. They are moving on to someone quake 3 engine. A few are dropping out...things weren't that great with the nANo team in the first place. I won't mention any names as I have already been a big enough rat on msn, but there is alot of talk-behind-your-back going on there. And alot of people seemed to have quit...

Oh and forgot to mention,
I'm getting their open-source engine in DBP
(comon arttu, don't talk Anvi out of it! )

Yup, in options - it is highly customiseable. You can't use the mouse, but you can set up any key and joystick button for any control you like.

For me the best DBP project was: Muddlegums Radio Controlled Flight Sim.

Perhaps it is just because this is fresh in my mind, but I really liked it. Not very high on the replay factor, but excellently written, technically impressive, and high on wow factor.

Best Freeware Game Regardless of Dev Platform: Gene Rally 2003. Still the best skidmarks type game ever, and free!

Been around a while, but I think that was just a demo in the showcase. Final version was released this year, I'm pretty sure though.

some of my favorites are:

* Axis of Evil// heh, played every beta test Yarbles sent me
* Magic Land // good play, only got to play demo though..still best RPG on DBP
* RPGcyco's Online FPS // the first DBP multiplayer FPS game that i played, and had fun playing...played really well, and vertually no bugs
* Dwarven Tales // indi!? wheres a demo? lol havn't heard much progress on this, but it was starting to look like one of the best graphically made games for DBP...hopefully indi recovered from that Modeler insadent...
* Flyer: First Contact // awsome RTS in the works, can't wait to see it finished
* Nemesis...oh wait, only i've played this..but ya

Why hello Moondog... funny seeing you around here.

Ahem.

Axes of Evil should go up there with Skycars on Yellow's list. I just finally got the demo running and it's fantastic.

Skycars rocks!
I also kinda liked Axes of Evil despite the fact that I could never complete the demo quest.
Asteroids from Banshee studios was kinda fun.

Yea Skycars was pretty good. It got me really mad at times though...when I kept falling off

But once you get good at it, you tend to have fun more.
What other db games should be played..? I still had not tried Axes of evil, it look's pretty nice.
