I have a DVD player, and a VHS video. Is it possible to play the sound from the DVD so that it can be heard during a film played on the VHS?

I wasn't really clear in my explenation, but I actually want to play a CD on my DVD player, a music CD. Then watch a video at the same time. My DVD player is capable of playing SACD 5.1 music, which is surround sound, and it would be great to watch Wizard Of Oz to Pink Floyd music in surround sound.
