I've downloaded the DarkBASIC demo, and worked my way through the fasttrak tutorials. Everything is fine except when I exit my sample game, or when I exit DarkBASIC to return to Windows, my PC totally locks up.

I'm running Windows XP Pro on AMD1800XP, 512Mb RAM, with video and sound card.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

could u add the code for the sample game that locks up.

Sometimes people create objects and arrays and sounds into the program but forget to clean up properly.

It could be a memory leak issue in this regard or a code pitfall and the program is stuck somewhere.

Does it happen to every peice of code?


3 things that usually cause weird things and try them in this order.


(1) Reinstall DarkBasic if its doing odd things
update the patches

(2) check to see if your DirectX is up to date

(3) check to see if your video card drivers are up to date as well

That used to happen to me until I updated to version 1.13 then the problems stopped It used to lock up when exiting also try upgrading to version 1.13 and see if it works.

Alienware area 51/radeon 9800 pro 256mb/sound blaster audigy 2/5.1 surround sound speakers.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm already running v1.13 so I've updated the drivers for my graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX400) and that seems to have done the trick (for now........).
