I've released V1.7a of My 2D Platform Engine featuring a build of Manic Miner across

- Raspberry Pi4
- macOS
- Linux 32/64 Bit
- Windows (OpenGL and Vulkan)

Built using the December 2022 Release of AGK2 and AppGameKit Studio.

There's a known issue with multi-monitor setups on Windows and awaiting a fix from TGC so if you're running full screen, move the game to your primary display (Shown as Display 1 in Windows).

There's fixes, enhancements including :-
- Boss Key - Press Escape when Playing
- F10 or ALT+ENTER to switch between Full Screen and Window Mode
- ALT+F4 to quit on all platforms
- OpenGL/Vulkan builds for Windows Users.
- Bunch of Fixes, Enhancements and new tags for the engine.
- Enhancements Request by @BobThePolarBear



I don't have a Mac with BigSur or above yet, so would be interested in any macOS user on V11+ to let me know if AppGameKit works on these devices.

This is a fake letter activated under the 'BOSS Key' or Escape.

Back in the 80's when playing games on PC's during work time, people would get often get caught by their bosses, some games implemented the "Boss Key" which was a key combination to temporarily swap out the game screen with something like Lotus123 or Wordperfect Screens etc.

I've updated the idea, with something that looks like a letter you'd type in MS Word which is completely fake it's just a PNG nothing else going on under the covers. If the boss walks by when playing you hit escape, the game pauses and you can blag your way out of it.

It's a simple graphic that's overlaid found in

Which can be swapped out with any image of your choosing.

Nothing Nefarious, the letter if you read is my attempt at humour of Maria's Housekeeping services when Willy is left to clean his own mansion in JSW, the next conversion I'm working on...

*EDIT2: Forgot to say, Press escape again to return to the game* The difference between minimising or swapping the window out is the game will pause and pause all music/sound after all you don't want to be on the Solar Powered Generator, your last life and the boss walks in on you!

ah, sorry i didnt understand the gag or the term Boss Key (which i took as some kinda Boss or God Mode).

now i can appreciate them both

i keep [ESC] = End in my .agc template and out of habit hit the key and expected End but, instead saw the "doc" so became somewhat confused.

now, back to the game. only level 2 so plenty left to do
