This might be interesting for you 8-bit fans out there:

The original author of Montezuma's Revenge released a remake on STEAM earlier this year.
STEAM link: Montezuma's Revenge on STEAM

I played the original version on an Atari 800XL. The STEAM version features the original levels, plus a modern mode with some improvements.

Cheers,

i remember the name like so many others from back in my C64 days but no idea how i never played it?!

i always associated it with Aztec Challenge which i do remember playing but it's a shame MR escaped me as, since i've reviewed it @ steam and youtube vids (language), it's rock solid fun

Played that one on a C64, too.
But nothing beats PITFALL 2!!

i wonder if some of the developers are (finally) getting full rights to their games so that they can remake (if they wanted to)?

i expect that's some of the story.

the rest is they know how old we are now compared to "then" and that we probably have a bit more in our pockets than lunch money

Sweet! I remember playing Montezuma's Revenge on the Commodore 64 years ago, that was a fun game. Had no idea there was a remake until now. Thank you for posting this announcement and making me aware of it! This game stood out to me from most other platform games, with its smooth fluid gameplay. But also challenging (in a good way) for a player to progress through. A true classic.

The artwork seems a bit inconsistent. Some things look really detailed like the brick in the background, but then the character is pretty flat and basic.
