Hello AppGameKit friends!

I would like to introduce you to Amoriax, which I finally finished after a year
It is a tactical game based on ancient Roman board games. These games were built on the principle of simplicity - they usually had plain stones with some movement options, yet there was magical logic behind them. And few rules.

4 rules

● the game piece can only be moved to the last possible space in the chosen direction
● outside the marked central area, you can drag a stone into the letter L (just like a knight in chess)
● a playing piece can drag diagonally from a complete corner to the opposite corner
● the red stone is common to both players and can be drawn by anyone

The goal of the game is to dominate the center field with the crown.
Stones are not discarded, they are only moved where there is an empty space.

You can download the game for PC (direct link, ZIP format):
https://www.instaluj.cz/amoriax/download

Or play in the browser:

I hope, you will like it. Enjoy!

Thank you very much!
Yes, I don't know why the sound doesn't work in HTML5

try hosting it on your itch page where the sound might work?

and, while you're there, make sure to add AppGameKit to the engine metadata for it and your last itch game so both show in the ever-growing #MadeWithAGK collection

meanwhile, i will be playing this more. thanks for sharing!

OK, of course! It should be.

I don't think I understand. Should I upload something in HTML5 to itch.io? I didn't even know that was possible. I don't think I found it there, or I don't understand it.

similar to your breakout game (which, i assume isn't AGK), you just need to rename the html file to "index.html" and zip the contents of the HTML5 export folder (just the contents, not the folder itself) and upload it (like your breakout game). i won't fill this thread with more but i had prepared a quick guide on html export/itch.io embedding and made it available for download @ the Jam HQ. feel free to DM me on Discord if you need additional help.

It works, thank you very much!

P.S. I didn't even remember I had Breakout-X in there. I used to do it in MonkeyX.

Don't listen to VN, sound never works for him in html! It worked for me, it's due to a browser security "feature" that was added in recent years. A user must interact with the page before sound module can be utilized. If you don't do that before AppGameKit attempts to load the module, you won't get sound. It's as simple as clicking anywhere on the page before the app loads. Nobody notices this issue on itch because you have to click "run" before it'll load the game. You can add this yourself if you wish to host it other than itch, you can view my html source for an example: https://zimnox.com/games/asteroids/ (it might look like a lot of CSS but that's only cause i went fancy)

I'm not sure what "bily vyhral" means, but I think I won. When you said dominate the center field, I thought I had to get all my pieces into that center area. If I realized I simply had to cover the crown, I would've won a lot sooner lol. Tried again and went from 67 moves to 33.

Games works smoothly, didn't notice any bugs.

correction, 19 moves!

Thank you very much, I will definitely try that interaction with the site!

Yes, "bílý vyhrál" = "white won". At the bottom right there are flags and language mutations, there is English, Portuguese and Russian.

Thank you for the compliment!

I didn't notice the flags, that helps! As far as the difficulty, I get different colored stars but none of that really tells me which one is harder.

Ok I take it back, found a bug. Set difficulty to the gold star, it takes a really long time to think. While it's thinking, the game flashes back and forth to a blank screen.

Thanks I'll fix it!!

1 star = easy
2 stars = medium
3 stars = difficult

EDIT: Anyway, try the PC version, it should be more "intelligent" because it can calculate more combinations than on the server.
