Sorry for being the one who brings this very sad news to the TGC community. BlendMan has died probably in early September. He was a passionate AppGameKit user, a helpful, kind soul. Loved his art, his creations.
There is a discussion about his death on the PureBasic forum where he was also an active user.

Discussion on the PureBasic forums.

His last blog post about his illness and situation.

thanks for passing the news along, agkcoder.

i can't imagine what he's been through and how he managed to graciously share so much creativity, talent and his massive heart. and, now i can only hope he's free to enjoy his passions even more.

his first and last WIPS here, his wonderful drawings, and his struggle.

RIP Blendman.

Wow

I 'm sure everyone has their own burden to bear and I too thought about arranging a post when i had the heart transplant in 2018 so this plog post touches me deeply.
This creative man surely leaves deep emotional voids.

RIP BlendMan

Haven't been active round here for a while, so only seeing this now.
Saddens me to hear this . May he rest in peace and make the code of this universe a little prettier from his cloud.

Immediately takes me back;
There once was a heroic Blitz3d coder named Richard White living in France, that wanted to do an entire overhaul of the language to 64bit precision with shaders and new 3d commands. I was testing out things for him and was every time excited to see what new stuff he had come up with.

Suddenly he wasn't responding anymore to my convo's and after some weeks I was informed by his widow that he had left this world, leaving her and his little daughter behind. His code was given to a cousin to take care of, but never heard of it again, which is a bit of a shame as he had pored hard work into it, but might have been what killed him actually.

Hope someone can solve the death equation, for it's really starting to bug me that you learn many things, and then it's all gone. Seems so wasteful.

we should give his account some sort of special badge.

Not if we'd keep on breeding as we do indeed, but I dream of a world, where there's only death by accidents, and perhaps after living for 1000 years.
A world where, on solar power in deserts, factory-farms are producing everything we need 24/7 by automation, from food, to clothes, to houses etc. People could focus on really helping each other, play & create games, music, art, evolving our intellect AND making love-not war, for all resources would be abundant, no money needed.

I think if we do not annihilate ourselves, this eventually is inevitable.
May not be pretty at first for powers that be will try to stretch their reign of power, but this can only last max 150 years, perhaps much sooner, given the exponential pace of technological developments.

We'd might need additional planets though, but if living that long, and seeing how many technological advances we've made in the last 200 years, that should be solvable.

But perhaps I'm being too positive and people are not ready yet.
