Could be something to do with alien compo deadline at 8pm tonight and everyone uploading at last minute (like me!)

yep it was slow for about 10-15mins for me

when it came back to speed there was sql problems.

maybe somone trying to hammer the sql?

me too...
It was running very very very slowly to a point there it just stopped. I got frustarted, restarted my pc, and guess what, the MS blaster worm virus pops up.

Now I have to reformatt again, because the second windows starts, it shuts down again, and it won't let me enable my firewall either.

at about 9 it was still slow ? ? but it starting to speed up now

lol easiest way is to look in c:\windows or c:\winnt view the directory contents in detailed view, look for a icon that looks like a new windows installer. to stop it running just simply use ctrl+alt+del (for xp people) and find the exe name in the list and terminate it.

these worm/virus makers have really become lazy

won't fix it...the blaster worm changes the settings of the RPC service so that it dies, and the recovery action is to reboot. You won't find this in the processes list.
