How do you do this. I woudl like to know because I whant to make some character models in milkshape but dont see a way to make it out of one texture. How do you get multiple textures on one object?

the process is called uv mapping or wrapping.
group areas of polygons and apply textures to them.

you can paste a screenshot of polygons from the texture co ordinate editor to another image provided the dpi is relative. this is a long winded but easy way to make a uv skin any way you want according to the x y and z dimensions.

check out some texture tutorials

I had an idea milkshape saves uv coordinates so textures can be correctly applied in dark basic I thought of taking all of the textures I will use and make it into one big uv map and use that but I dont know if it will work.

You can just build a cube out of several plains if you want, but I don't know how to go about spheres and cones.

You could get really tricky and edit the UV data on the object in-game... You need to modify the vertex data through a memblock then recreate the object, and It should all work pretty like.

Have a look Here for functions that do this.

Hope I Helped...
