It says I joined on Dec. 8th, 2003, but I joined back in June or July! I know it may not seem like a big deal to some, but the joined date is like a status symbol! It is something earned, not given!

Yes, Ha Ha.

Talk to Rich about it.

EDIT: About the status thing. Its true. I think of myself as a middle man. been here ALMOST a year. Then theres all these noobs, posting new forum rules after being here for 4 days. And there are the "elders", like indi and IanM and thems. Yeah, it is a status thing. SO i would talk to Rich about it.

Well I was never at the old forum and originally joined around October 2002 but didn't stay too much and eventually forgot my password and had to remake my account

So my current date isn't really that accurate but I don't worry too much and I don't see why anyone else would. I guess I don't think it's that important.

Hehe, my joined date is like my proof of being an mid-bie ( ) in Apollo. Or the proof of me owning DBP for than a year and still a newbie.

If i ain't here, i'm probably playing DOA2 Hardcore on the PS2

Middle man after less than a year? To this forum maybe. Don't forget a few of us have been here through several forums (4Rum anyone?). Joined the forum within 2 weeks of Indi, around june 2000 if I remember rightly.

When the new forums were created, basically Rich forgot to put a joined date against each user. In the end he defaulted it to a set date as all the newbies didn't have real dates, so we all defaulted to the same date at the time (as several months had gone by).

Cheers

Agreed ... many people here already prove that, in one aspect or the other... look at all the brilliant coders with incredibly low post counts and poor systems, who have made some of the most fantastic Alienware entries...

I dont think forum status effects anything. There are people out there who use DB and arent on the forums For all we know they are making some awesome games!

Yeah, some of us have to come to the forums a bit less, like me. Which is why I want Rich to implement that timer thing that will only let a person be logged on a certain length each day. Then, we might see some better programs soon.

Cheers,
Preston

Yea, a timer would be nice because I have no self-control for these forums. Even as I speak now I'm doing my homework while on the forums. I think I'll just have to take a few weeks off and let my craze die down a little.

From now on, I'm just going to visit on the weedends. Or when I have break/snowday/summer vacation. Kinda ridiculous I spend an hour or more on school nights reading on these forums.(Possibly once I get homework done if I can limit myself to a few minutes.)

I still plan to be on MSN, so you can always catch me there.

lol me too. i have so much homework to do this week (2 projects and several other things). i wasted all of christmas vacation on the forums and DID NOT DO ANYTHING! so my new year's resolution is to not spend so damn much time on the internet! i mean really, i managed to use up nearly 100 hours in my 10-day vacation! that's sad!

this is the first time i've been on the internet in 2 days, i'm proud to say

If your joined date was screwed with the SQL crash then email me and I'll restore it from a back-up. If your account doesn't exist in the back-up, tough
