Who won the Retro comp? I found the FTP folder, are they in winning order in there?

Banshee guys...downloaded your JetPac, kept me amused for a long time! Need to produce some divorceware myself, too much time on Alienware compo...and your game

What are you talking about? Jetpac didn't win, it was just the first entry. The "Girls from the Block" was the winner.

Not really, Diam Diam surprised me, when I played the demo before the results I thought to myself: "This is a really, really bad and annoying game." I guess Rich thought differently.

Guess again. Myself, Lee, Mike and Rick all thought differently. If you suck at Boulderdash I can see why you wouldn't like Diam Diam though.

Why would I need to guess again if I was right?

On the contrary, I think it was the exact opposite. I found Diam Diam overly simplistic and unchallenging. Possibly because it was so boring by the third level that I decided to just quit rather then play on. One of the reasons the actual retro games were good is because they're fun and addicting from the start, if you lose the player early on then they're not going to bother continuing to get to the good bit. On the other hand, you were judging the entries and so you were required to continue playing to give it a fair go and my guess is you got to the challing levels where the game really shined.

We came third with Jetpac2003. I don't think I tried Girls From The Block, but Diam Diam was a very nicely put together and most importantly playable game, unfortunately I suck at Boulderdash too .

What would be really cool is if TGC released their compo games on CD, like a Retro comp CD with all the games and a Alienware one, I'm on 56k so don't get the time to download all the games I want (I know, get broadband ).

Are the games freeware/shareware? If so, I would be prepared to d/load them all and ship it on CD to whoever, for a nominal fee to cover my time and CDs.

Obviously, I would only do it with the permission of TGC. I reckon £5 Sterling would cover costs, postage and time, for delivery to UK.

I think it would be better if TGC did it.

I agree entirely, but in the overall scheme of things, it would probably never happen. If they do it, it needs to be done well. I'm only talking about a quick compilation of all the zip files for Forum members.

OK. Cool.

I've got broadband myself but there'd probably be quite a lot of people who'd want it.

BatVink - it's not our permission you'd need, it's the permission of the game authors. Obtain that and we won't stop you.

Cheers,

Rich

@Batvink: You'd have permission to use any of my games, except I didn't submit one to the contest

BatVink: put all 90 Retro and 49 ailen wave games on to a CD`s my not be the best plan. it will be easyer just to post asking for permission of the authors. some my say yes some my say no but that way you get a good 50 games that will fill a CD.

Update: Just been inundated with Website work (like buses, you don't get anything for a week, then 3 come along all at once!)

...so if anyone else wants to take up the task, go for it. I would imagine most people would want their game on a compilation CD.
