Hello.

After a few months of waiting and a few days ( the last couple in fact ) of serious coding, I finally got my site up and running the way i wanted it

http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~jessticular

One of the main features of the site, is that it uses iFrames ( for the main content ) that dynamically resize so that it is the same size as the conent it is holding. Thus, it cuts down on loading all the images over and over again, and keeps the main page constand for links etc.

You'll also notice the right-click menu... Well, i know some of you don't like it because it restricts you from certain things, but, I love it... I'm so proud...

As it stands, my site has 47 hits. Hopefully we can boost that number eh? lol.

Oh, btw, there is no advertising on my site what-so-ever at the moment ( and there never will be any for anything commercial ). But i might put up some image links to other affiliates in the future.

One last thing, don't keep hitting refresh to kick up the hit counter, because it logs IP adresses and I can simply ban you

Hope you like it as much as I do...

Jess.

Not bad. Shame your fancy frame stuff don't work properly in Netscape or Opera.

Boo!

Indeed it is a shame... But, I like it, and i figured that most of the visistors that access the site are from DB, and DB requires windows, so alot of you will be using IE, thus, i used the iFrames

Thanks for the reply there spooky.

Jess.

Oh my god...change the spelling. In the grammatical sense, it should be "jestacular", like "spectacular", but you have it "jessticular", the only close relation being "testicular."

That's worthy of a stupid lol

Indeed I did.

Hence also my nickname in this forum, and every other one you'll find me on.

It's a play on words ya see? my name is Jess Telford, or, Jess T.
Then, add the icular and you have JessTicular...

Not the best choice of words to rhyme with, but still, I found it amusing.

@Puffy... Yeah, parts of my site are in PHP, and others are just HTML and others are Javascript... I was trying to go for the best combination.

But, since I have a very limited knowledge of PHP and JS, I probably would never have thought to have done that.
Thanks for the tips.

Jess.

I know, It was originally ALL tables, and still mostly is, it's just that I broke it up so that each page with content was seperate, and didn't have the header, the footer and the side bar, thus removing the need to load them every page load.

And the more tables you use the slower your site is to load. Because th ebrowser has to update the tabell positions etc every time you scoll or resize the window, and if you have ALOT, it takes a bit...

But, thanks for the positive feedback

Oh, no, I mean, when you have ALOT of tables...

Have you seen my Image 2 HTML converter? Well, it takes an image and creates a whole heap of tables out of it, each cell representing a pixel, with it's background colour the colour of the coresponding pixel, and, when you load that up ( with even a 100x100 pic ) it takes ages for the table to load.

That's what I meant... most websites never use anywhere that many tables, lol.
