Erm, I seem to have a problem with DBPro.
I have some .x models but when I load them with DBPro they are all messed up, chomps are not rendered and they are misformed.
Please help me!

Try to convert them to 3ds or prehaps try the new 3do format ( I Havn`t used this format yet).I sometimes get this problem and just by changing format I can usually get round it. Not quite sure why it happens though.

Dollars to donuts you have patch 5.2 installed. Damn, it really should come with a warning message. The new .X parser in 5.2 HATES quad or higher polygons. Either change model formats, roll back to 5.1, or try triangulating your models.

Lee is aware of the problem and it is to the best of my knowledge fixed, but that won't be available until the next release.

BTW, there is a free CONVDBO program in the Program Annoucement if you want to try the DBO format.

my models havent been getting distorted with the 5.2 patch, but rather lighting is all messed up... it looks as if there was a light pointing at the object...

no i do not have any lights (only ambient)... but the color on one side is actually different from one edge to another...

did a test with 2 triangulated cubes (simple)... rotated the second one 90 degrees, so the left side was pointing up... this was all done in 3DS Max 5.0... when imported into DBP... the first cube's left side is brighter... and the second cube's top is lighter???

sent models to mike already... but nothing was able to be fixed... as far as i know... REALLY hope that U6 will fix the .x parser!!... or im suck with 5.1

Just for fun, did you hide light 0?
