Hello,

I have a weird problem and I am hoping someone may have the answer to it.... I have created a scene in 3D MAX, only a simple one, floor, tree's, a wall, e.t.c. Uses about 4 Bitmaps in total for each peice of scenary. I normally try to keep everything on 1 bitmap, but the nature of my attempted project does not afford me such a luxury.

The problem is, when I load my X file scene into DBPro, all it has are the basic colours assigned to it in the MAX editor, no textures at all...whats more, my modifiers dont seem to be converting as well as they should, by tree's are cones and my floor was non-existant. By DXF converting them, it seemed to fix the modifier stack error, but they still will not accept textures, despite being UVW mapped in MAX. Please, can anyone suggest?

All the Bitmaps are located in the same directory as the X file and my DBPro Project folder.

Most DXF version have no texture capabilities.

Save the .X file in ASCII and open the file with Notepad. Look for the texture paths used in the material nodes. [Search for 'bmp' or double quotes.] Many times, programs will use absolute paths for the textures. This rarely matches your development path. Edit the paths down to just the filename. As long as your .X files and your bitmaps are in the same directory, you'll be good to go when you load the objects.

I hope that helps.
