HI,

i'm trying to get a river and a waterfall working within an X-file level object exported from 3ds-max with pandaX. so far i have the water transparant and reflective as you would expect and it looks good. The problem is with "moving" the texture. by this i mean giving the appearence that the water is flowing.

when exporting, i have tried adding an animated noise to the plain object representing the water (which doesn't seem to export).

I have also tried using an avi file (32b/with Alpha) that i made of scrolling water as the diffuse map but when exported, it did not load.

There are three ways i can think of, 2 of them don't work and i'm not sure how to do the third.

1.Add animated noise to "water" and export [does not work]

2. Use an actual animation as the diffuse map [does not work with avi or gif]

3.Scroll the UVW of the material.

can anyone help?

Already answered in another thread. Double posting is a waste of everyone's time and TGC's resources.

from DBpro help:

SCROLL OBJECT TEXTURE
This command will scroll the UV data of the specified object. The UV data
controls how a texture is mapped onto your object. By scrolling the UV data, you
can effectively scroll the texture over your object. The U value controls the
horizontal shift of the data. The V value controls the vertical shift of the data. The
scroll effect is permanent.

SYNTAX
SCROLL OBJECT TEXTURE Object Number, X, Y

place it in to a main loop to get mooving texture efect...
