you need to group each part in milkshape and atleast give the area some form of UV mapping using the primitive UV editor or Texture Co Ordinate Editor in Ms3d.
I reccomend you invest in unwrap3d. Using Lithium 1.1 and 1.3 go well together but its a lot easier to make and control your UV maps in unwrap3d than what I had in the previous two versions.

yeah I agree with Indi, Unwrap 3D us much more feature-rich. the only problem I've encountered is that when I import .x files made in JTEdit, Unwrap 3D adds some random frames (not animation) to the heirarchy of the model, which I don't like. it takes a little creativity with notepad to clean them up, but it's worth it.

probably not a problem with Unwrap 3D so much as the .x importer (or possible JTEdit)

It will make your life easyer in LithUnwrap if you split your model in to the groups before loading in. You can switch and wiev diferent groups by clicking on them in right panel.

You dont have to UV map in milkshape. You model will have no UV data so you will se nothing on screen, just some dots in left top corner. Switch to face selecting, select whole group and then click on Tools/UV Mapping and select mapping method you prefere for that group.

You can regroup in LithUnwrap directly but its more dificult than in Milkshape.

Yeah thats what it was, just little squares for the groups that i made with my own faces but the groups that contained cubes and cylinders were already mapped when i opened the Lith. Thanks for the help.
