I've heard people, on multiple occasions, say that matrixes are "slow" compared to memblocks and this statement always confuses me. I'm under the impression that a memblock is just a reserved portion of memory, and if you wanted you could easily write pretty much anything into that memory, including a matrix.
Can someone explain what makes a matrix "slow" and what my options are if I wanted something faster? If I write a matrix to a memblock does that make it not slow anymore?
