Don't look at my site ... it's not what I'm asking for

I want a new webdesign, but I don't know what. I thought about something with a white background (In fact, anything but not a dark colour to keep it neutral), but I have no Idea what the whole thing would have to look like.

I also thought about a logo : I imagined the earth as an emty spherical wooden grid, where the half is covered by some kind of skin (which represents the continents and the water) and the other shall still be in construction. The best think would be, that this sphere turns. What do you think about it ?

I'm not asking anyone to do it for me, just want some ideas or suggestions.

For the site will be offering things for education, DarkBASIC, BoardGames, etc

Well I don't think that wood goes well against white background. Your logo should be something to do with the name of your site. I like interlocked metal sliding windows.

Well, let's say AziSoft for the name.
- I want the "construction"-idea to be visible in it. The "Leonardo Da Vinci"-style is not bad (I mean his plans for his inventions : the sketches with handwriting next to them)
- It will be displayed on a title-banner of my homepage (750x100 or something like that), and at the beginning of my games and works, but I still can resize it. So the bigger the better.

I just began learning some PHP.
It works quiet fine at localhost with EasyPHP on my computer, but I have some questions about it :
- What would be the best free server for such a site ? (whith enough space)
- Do I have to install something special on the server, to make the PHP things work ?

You could try something in CSS, maybe like this?
