The Word Association thread does this. It's because of a miscount in the number of posts. In the topics view it says that there are 1,711 but in the thread it says that there are 1,530. That's because some of the posts have been deleted and it didn't recount the totals. It thinks it needs to go to page 41 but it only goes up to page 39, so it just goes to the first page. Oh well, I don't really like Apollo board anyway.
