coincidently i should be going to Hawaii sometime over the next year, hehee ... might be nice having one there

i think TCA might setup another one cause last years was good aparenty. And there is the SyncOn Germany one ofcouse which has been every-year now for like 3years.

Need to setup another US one, but when i suggested it; it got a luke warm reception so not sure it's worth the effort if peeps don't wanna come - ya know?

I had a word with Rich about this last week - it'll be sometime in the year (possibly summertime - and hopefully this year), although it hasn't been thought about much at all.

It'll be an official one, whenever it is, this time, so it wont be me organising it.

Might be worth asking Rich later in the year.

1. Another one? We already had one?!
2. Let's set up somewhere that's not too far away from the DBPers in general...I know there's quite a few of us in the Northeast.

Yup

It was already in the Northeast, but really that's where most of us are, so the 2nd one would prolly be here.

The UK really dosen't need a convention -- most people could cross the county in the amount driving an average NEster would to get to a NE convention here... well not quite, but, you get the picture. Aus could do with a convention too.

I dunno... 3 IRCers from Utah, 1 (or more) from Cali, that's like.. half the channel as far as the US is concerned.

I say we go right to the middle... NEBRASKA

We're not talking about IRC, we're talking about people on the forums.

At least I was.

Unless those people are on the forums.

...

But either way, that may be half the channel, but it's not half of TGC's customers.

Really only a poll on TGC's site would be truly telling.

Putting one in the middle would cut out both the west and east... fact is, the whole US won't be able to make it no matter where it is.

If we do do it in the middle, I vote Texas-- I could pick up a handgun while I was there .

For the UK Convention, it would be nice to be next to London so French DBers, Belgian and some from Netherlands could have easy access with the Eurostar.

@Eric T

I think its unfair to make generalisations about that, after all, a recent survey found that two-thirds of Americans cannot name a single country in Asia. So much for cultural awareness

I would not put too much stock in that survey. While the US educational system may not be at the top of the list, world geography is a required subject.

BTW, Oklahoma is centrally located as well.

A recent survey has revealed that 100% of all surveys contain inaccurate or false data and are commonly used out of context or used to reinforce a political opinion rather than a scientific fact.

They surrender easy? Well im not sure what you mean.
At least the french are more calm, kind, and laid back people than the english and americans (btw however there are some nice people in england and america, but i havent found many )

lol- jimmy pointed out a quote from IRC where a US tourist in the UK goes to a shop to pay in dollars, the person at the till sez "in the UK we only accept pounds and sometimes euros" the tourist replies "but all the other 3rd world countries I been to accept dollars without hesitating"... seems like she had some 3rd world education...
